Set on the first floor of an ancient building in the very heart of Ceglie Messapica, Il Violino and Il Sassofono have been lovingly and respectfully restored to offer a small slice of Italian life in one of Puglia’s oldest towns.
The story behind Il Violino and Il Sassofono
Named after her two favourite instruments, the apartments pay tribute to their Belgian owner’s great passion for music, her appreciation of the many concerts she has attended at the town’s music conservatory, and her deep rooted love of Ceglie Messapica.
The Location
The apartments are only 100 metres from the main pedestrianised area of Ceglie Messapica, home to some of the most renowned restaurants and bars in the Itria Valley.
The Accommodation
Il Violino is a two room apartment and can sleep up to three.
Il Sassofono is a studio apartment perfect for two.
Together, they can be rented to suit a group of up to five guests.
Accessed via a stone staircase, the accommodation is tastefully decorated throughout and thoughtfully planned with your comfort in mind. A fine example of old town charm meets 21ct century cool.
Il Sassofono
Good things come in small packages and Il Sassofono is a shining example. The living area of this studio apartment is bright and airy with a window opening onto a small balcony that overlooks the alleyway below.
Tucked behind a bamboo privacy screen, a comfortable double bed sits in a small raised area that also benefits from lots of natural light.
A stylish and discreet double door system houses a basic kitchenette equipped with a coffee machine, toaster, and kettle and other essentials, and a bathroom with a large chromotherapy shower to take care of your emotional wellbeing.
There is a small breakfast bar in the living area that serves as a space to enjoy a morning espresso.
Il Violino
Across the hall, Il Violino is a two-room apartment. Rich in character, the living area is gorgeous, warm and inviting with a defined seating area (with a sofa bed should it be required), and a dining table where up to four guests can enjoy breakfast or a relaxed dinner after a day of exploration. A basic kitchenette is equipped with a coffee machine, toaster and a kettle, and provides all the essentials needed for everyday dining.
A stone archway leads onto the double bedroom which features a comfortable bed with a wrought iron canopy, a freestanding wardrobe and chest of drawers for clothes storage.
An en suite contemporary bathroom features a walk-in shower housed in a large niche for a shower with a difference.
Practicalities
Il Violino and Il Sassofono are accessed via a narrow stone staircase so are unsuitable for guests who have difficulty with stairs.
Both apartments offer a key safe for convenience.
They are equipped with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and central heating. A cot or single sofa bed is available for children on request.
