The frescoes
Step back in time and explore the history of Palazzo di via Celso from the fascinating original frescoes and vintage cement tiles.
Storie e Affreschi is the largest apartment in Palazzo di via Celso occupying the first floor (no lift) and with the largest rooms in the building, which makes it ideal for intimate family or friend groups.
The bright and sunshine-filled accommodation features high ceilings, original frescoes , all which tell the story of the building, hence the name: Storie e Affreschi or Stories and Frescoes.
This is a jewel of an apartment with original frescoes, vintage cement tiles, vaulted ceilings in all rooms and absolutely breathtaking sea views.
Our challenge was to restore the accommodation and preserve the historic references without compromising on your comfort, so you’ll find modern essentials, such as air conditioning in all rooms, free WiFi and keyless access.
Living Area
Oozing rustic charm is the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area. Furnished with a sofa bed, TV and a dining table to seat four guests. The kitchen is compact but well-equipped to prepare meals during your stay.
Sleeping Arrangements
There are two bright double bedrooms both with decorative cement tiles which add a touch of vibrant colour to the decor.
The master bedroom is wonderfully unique with its four-poster bed and magnificent frescoes on the vaulted ceiling.
The second bedroom is furnished with two single beds, which can be joined together to create one double bed.

Bathroom
Spacious, immaculate and beautifully presented with a large walk-in shower, toilet, bidet and a washbasin.
Rooftop Terrace
Up the stairs we go to reach the dazzling rooftop terrace. There is one lower terrace and a second higher terrace, also known as a Belvedere. This is one of the most privileged viewpoints in Gallipoli and it’s all yours!
The terrace is completely private and features a beautiful covered lounge area, dining table, bbq, and a refreshing outdoor shower. The sunsets are sublime from here and there is no better place in Gallipoli to dine out under the stars.
Access to the terrace is via the communal staircase (third floor) but the terrace can only be accessed by guests staying in Storie e Affreschi.
Practicalities
Baby and toddler equipment are available upon request.
Car access and parking in the historical centre is restricted during the summer season but you can park at the harbour, just a few 100 metres away.
