That was the story of U Palazzu de Tuie.
When an English photographer first stepped inside this 19th-century palazzo in the historic center of Tuglie, what began as curiosity quickly became something much deeper. The soaring vaulted ceilings, original cementine floors, generous proportions, grand wooden entrance, terraces, and quiet elegance of the space revealed a beauty impossible to ignore.
What followed was not a simple renovation, but a deeply personal restoration journey. Over time, the home was brought back to life with extraordinary care, respecting its architectural soul while thoughtfully adapting it for contemporary living. Original features were preserved wherever possible, historic doors and shutters restored rather than replaced, and every design decision made with the intention of honoring the character of the building.
Today, U Palazzu de Tuie opens its doors to guests, offering the chance to experience the same beauty and sense of discovery that first inspired its transformation.
